Watch and Download Shaft 2019 Movies Online Free. The ill-begotten sequel to the 2000 reboot starring Samuel L. Jackson, Richard Roundtree & Jessie Usher directed by Tim Story (Barbershop/Fantastic Four). For some reason, someone thought a new Shaft film was needed so we have this yarn which takes place a few years before the 2000 film where we see the woman who sired Jackson’s son (Regina Hall all piss & vinegar in a thankless role) go her own way to raise their son even as humorous gifts occasionally arrive (a pack of condoms, a wad of loose cash, etc.) show up making it seem he was still involved in the son’s life. Fast forward a number of years & we find Shaft Jr. is now a techie working for the FBI who after reuniting w/old friends for drinks has a murder thrust into his lap (one friend, former military, had a substance abuse issue in his past is found dead). Not having any juice at his post & the only person around w/any kind of investigative chops is his dad soon prompts the scion to enlist him for help. What follows is a smorgasbord of inappropriate humor, clumsily shot violence & a story so hackneyed, I wouldn’t be surprised the actors came up w/it on set. The actors & director do what they can but the script is the real liability here since it feels so out of place & ill-timed (cop against perp violence may’ve been the mode back in the day but now…not so much) you end being turned off by all the mayhem then being entertained by it.
